The Nordic Branch of the AHC

Report on the 1993 activities

The Nordic branch grows steadily and has 55 members as of August. The branch newsletter has been published twice, mainly with articles on the activities in the Scandinavian data archives. The obligation on behalf of the Danish Data Archive to arrange a Nordic AHC conference i spring this year, could regrettably not be carried out.

The Nordic delegates to the Nijmegen conference held a meeting on August 31. It was agreed that the Tromsoe and Odense delegates should cooperate to arrange a Nordic conference next spring. Stefan Fogelvik kept up the promise on behalf of the Stockholm Historical Data Base to arrange the 1997 international AHC conference in Stockholm. Jan Oldervoll reported on the summer school arranged in Bergen in cooperation with the University of Salzburg. The next issue of the Nordic AHC newsletter will contain a request for candidates to take over the Nordic chairmanship.
