Terminus Silver Line Loudoun Gateway

Ashburn is a planned Washington Metro station in Loudoun County, Virginia, United States, on the Silver Line. [2] It is scheduled to begin operation in 2020,[1] and will be the western terminus of the line. The current western terminus is Wiehle–Reston East station, completed in July 2014.[2]

In April 2015, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority approved the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors' name for the stop.[3]

Location[edit]

Ashburn station will be located in Ashburn, Virginia at the intersection of the SR-267/Dulles Greenway and SR 772. It will be the furthest station from the Washington city center, only 26.5 miles (42.6 km) by road from Keyes Gap, West Virginia.[2]

Station facilities[edit]

  • 2 station entrances (both sides of SR 267)
  • Pedestrian bridge crossing Dulles Greenway
  • Bus dropoff/pickup (both sides)
  • Kiss & Ride (both sides)
  • Parking for 3,300 cars (1,650 on each side)
  • 24 bicycle racks, including 11 in the parking structure, and 5 bike lockers on the north side; 27 bicycle racks on the south side
