The Castilian languages are Castilian (Spanish) and its closest relatives. Besides derivatives of Spanish such as Ladino, this refers principally to Extremaduran, a partially mutual intelligible language that is often considered merely a peculiar dialect by other speakers of Spanish.
The term "Castilian languages" is used in the 17th edition of Ethnologue. This grouping is used virtually nowhere else.
