Many lakes are occupied this way and due to this, there is no way for rainwater to stagnate in the lake. Due to that residential areas were badly affected by the 2015 floods and in summer people are suffering from water scarcity. However, the government is not taking any steps to retain the occupied lake as well as the rainwater drain canal.
