This is a list of U.S. states, the District of Columbia and territories by median age in 2017. Median age is the age that divides a population into two numerically equal groups - that is, half the people are younger than this age and half are older. It is a single index that summarizes the age distribution of a population.[note 1]

The CIA World Factbook published updated median ages for these territories in 2018: 26.1 years in American Samoa,[1] 29.1 years in Guam,[2] 33.4 years in the Northern Mariana Islands,[3] 42.2 years in Puerto Rico[4], and 41.3 years in the U.S. Virgin Islands.[5]
