I think this project is spectacularly noble, and almost realistic to boot. It will always be off-kilter in some respects, and pockmarked here and there, but Jimmy Wales's objective—"Imagine a world in which every single person on the planet is given free access to the sum of all human knowledge"—is impossibly attractive, even if also impossible.
I'm male and between the ages of 16 and 26.
My intellectual interests stretch across the humanities and social sciences, especially philosophy, psychology, and literary theory, but my edits tend in other directions, probably because it's more fun to write about American Idol than about aretology. I also enjoy music (and there's really no better place to learn about popular music than here).

My first signed-in edit was on August 23, 2004, to Deaths in 2004 [summary: "(minor) (→August 2004 - changed 'World War *1' to *I; made 'veteran' lower-case)"]. I'm now at 10,000-plus.
