Adriana[edit]

Point one: You should move the above text to the actual page. Point two: I know people born in Slovakia having Czech names, but HER name was Sklenáriková, simply because that name is used too frequently for a non-existing name (see also google - a SME article etc.). Since nobody translates Czech names into Slovak names, this implies that this is her correct name (otherwise it would not exist). So, unless you have a source saying that she was born with a Czech name and the Slovak name is someone's invention, or that she changes her name, I will revert your change. Juro 23:31, 14 August 2005 (UTC)

Hi, Juro, thank You for Your contribution on my site :) Point one: no problem... Point two: Maybe we use another kinds of Google, my Google found name "Adriana Sklenáriková" 3x* and name "Adriana Sklenaříková" 1130x.*

(4x including reference to Wiki, where You are author) (162 000x without any diacritic)

I am not interesting so much about modeling (and Adriana is not my dream girl), but I heard her name many times in Slovak media and watched her presented in Slovak MISS competition as head of jury, always with "czech" version of her name, so I am sure about that.

You can believe me, I am slovak patriot and have no ambitions to "bohemize" Slovak famous people :) She is not "less Slovak" because her name - same as Pálffy or Hochschorner brothers :) We (Slovak nation) can be really proud for her :) And anyway - in "foreign" world countries just few people know special different between Czech and Slovak pronunciation of Small Glass Maker :)

We can wrangle about her name to one day, when will come the French (or Polynesian) person and will change her name finally to Karembeu :))

It would be easier for me write in Slovak, but I know You prefer english in english Wiki, so I tried. Nice day.

This has nothing to do with national pride or sympathy for her. I, on the other hand, remember her being called Sklenáriková (look at the SME article of 1998, for example), although I must admit that I watch Slovak TV rarely, especially not this kind of broadcasts. I think that she just (officially or inofficially) changed her name when she went to Czechia, but I do not know how to verify it...Juro 02:10, 15 August 2005 (UTC)

I got it ! The secret of her name :)

Father of Adriana is Czech, mother is Slovak, they met, when both studied in Prague. Name "Sklenaříková" she had from her birth.

In this SME article is just mistake.

look: http://www.czsk.net/svet/clanky/osobnosti/sklenarova.html

I see, I will change the main article then...Juro 02:42, 15 August 2005 (UTC)

thank You, I love to looking for similar details :) --kelovy 02:45, 15 August 2005 (UTC)

Bot[edit]

Hello Kelovy, You have put a message on my discussion page suggesting to get a bot flag. However, my account and ip-adress have been blocked on the slovak wikipedia, so I cannot make the request. Could you be so kind to put the following text on the request page or tell me where to apply for unblocking? Thijs! 18:03, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

===Thijs!bot=== Hello. I am Thijs! from the Netherlands. I would like to request a bot flag for my bot Thijs!bot on the gallician wikipedia. My bot uses the results from the Interwiki Link Checker to fix interwiki-links on more than 50 wikipedia's. It also regularly checks the full Dutch wikipedia for missing links. The bot uses the pywikipedia-platform, which has proven to be save, and will not do any difficult changes without me approving them. Thijs!
Hi and sorry, I was some days at vacations without internet. I see You have been already unblocked in our Wiki and could to put request. Thank You so much for Your willingness and forgive us for blocking. --kelovy 17:19, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

Slovak villages[edit]

thankyou for adding the Hungarian links. I am currently going through all SLovakian villages. Feel free to help me. My latest entries have the statistics. Ernst Stavro Blofeld 13:28, 14 September 2006 (UTC) see Nižný Lánec for layout.

Hello, thank You for perfect work, I am surprised and honored that You are interesting for my land. Statistisc are good idea :) I will steal that informations to sk wiki :) --kelovy 14:04, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi. I greatly appreciate all those hundreds of edits you have made today. Just one suggestion: According to the current conventions[1], we use a comma, not parentheses to disambiguate between two places with the same name. So, the name of an article should be Žiar, Revúca District and not Žiar (Revúca District). Tankred 03:01, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

) Aha, sorry, I will fix it according conventions --kelovy 03:07, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi. I have recently developed the slovakian villages so the articles shoud now look like Nováčany. As you go through adding hungarian links (very helpful) please can you remove the category Villages and municipalities in the Kosice region in each article and just keep the district category. E.g Villages and municipalities in Gelnica District. Otherwise the regional category will be too large as I realised with the Banska Bystrica region Ernst Stavro Blofeld 10:15, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Nováčany are amazing, thanks a lot :) OK, I will delete regional categories through my interwiki way as You wish :) --kelovy 10:27, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

thankyou your doing a brilliant job mate. well done. Ernst Stavro Blofeld 10:40, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi another thing is I am developed the articles now using a lot of data rather than just basic stubs of location. As you are going through if you like you can add:

External links[edit]

at the bottom of every page so when I eventually come back to them I can quickly click on the link and find the relevant info. Thanks Ernst Stavro Blofeld 10:46, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Good idea, I will do that, too :) --kelovy 10:50, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Hey have a look at my latest slovakian entry Turňa nad Bodvou. This is how a starter article should be really. Ernst Stavro Blofeld 11:28, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Lovely one, I will translate it for Slovak wiki version :) --kelovy 11:35, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi I have just realised how useful you can be. I have started the article on Čečejovce. Please can you translate roughly the history as Slovakia wiki has quite a lot of needed detail. Please let me know Ernst Stavro Blofeld 17:56, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Hello, because lack of my English knowledge I am unable to translate that to regular English, I made raw translation for You and saved in article as comment :) --kelovy 01:50, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi you are doing an excellent job thankyou very much for adding the links and removing the regional category. It makes my work so much easier. Hey I must be getting better have a look at my article Strážske. This is how I would like all the village entries to be like with pictures - photographs make an enormous difference. Ernst Stavro Blofeld 16:55, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

Beautiful one, many thanks to You :) I am enjoying all Your articles so much --kelovy 04:52, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

Koloman Gögh[edit]

Vítaj Kelovy. You added to KG article on SK Wiki, he is Ethnic Hungarian. Surely he is, but user Mt7 reverted that claim several times on his article on EN Wiki. Could you please look at it and comment? Thank you. - Darwinek 13:08, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Witam - his reverts are surprise for me, because it was Mt7 who mentioted Hungarian ethnic descent of this footballer on sk wiki :) I can ask him --kelovy 02:41, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Hm, the links didnt answer me. Your doubled mind is mysterious for me, too. Maybe You just play some strange game with Hungarians - even through destruction of Your own text... --kelovy 05:38, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
--Mt7 13:16, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Slovak -> English[edit]

Hi. My name is Eysteinn and I come from Iceland. I am a big fan of the movie Hostel, and i`m trying to build a quote page on wikiquote on all the different languages used in that movie. Could you take a look at some audio files and tell me if they are in Slovak? I might be confusing it with Slovenia. I think most of the language spoken is Czeck, but I misspelled it as Check on my page http://steinninn.is/hostel/ If you know what they are saying, please, could you translate it. Thanks --Steinninn 16:49, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi, yes, most of text was spoken in Czech language. Some of them contain strong vulgarisms and I am not able to translate that :) "Mafia driving" and "Problem" was spoken in Russian. "More bubble gum" was in Slovak and it means: "Do You have some chewing gums" ? "Relax bro" was also in Slovak (however with strong Czech accent - it can be considered also as Moravian dialect of Czech language). --kelovy 17:24, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the info. Could you perhaps give a transcript of the two files in Slovak and the English translation. I put it up here so it would be easyer for you to just fill in the blanks as we say.

I hope you don`t mind that I put the other languages in there to use later on some other userpage. Thanks --Steinninn 12:53, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

Slovak Wikipedians' notice board[edit]

Hi. You might be interested in checking out the brand new Wikipedia:Slovak Wikipedians' notice board. All Wikipedians interested in Slovakia or subjects somehow related to Slovakia are invited to use this noticeboard as a tool for better organizing their activities, making announcements to others with similar interests, and discussing any actual issues related to their work on Wikipedia. You are welcome to add this notice board to your watchlist, so that you could see when it is updated and thus take part in any projects, initiatives, and improvements relating to articles about Slovakia. Also, you are welcome to report your own articles here so they could be peer-reviewed and expanded by other contributors. Tankred 15:59, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

Igor Bališ[edit]

I noticed you created the Slovak inter-language links for the West Bromwich Albion category pages. I was wondering if you have any additional information on Igor Bališ? I'm surprised that he doesn't appear to have a page on the Slovak Wikipedia. Cheers. --Jameboy 12:03, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

hi, I am not great fan of football, I am just great fan of interwiki :) but I hope somebody will make his page on our wiki soon. Now I found very few about him.
  • he played 2 seasons in Czechoslovak league - 47 starts, 2 goals
  • Slovak league
    • 1993/94 Spartak Trnava - 29 starts - 1 goal
    • 1994/95 Spartak Trnava - 29 starts - 2 goals
    • 1995/96 Spartak Trnava - 32 starts - 0 goals
    • 1996/97 Spartak Trnava - 12 starts - 1 goal
    • Slovan Bratislava (1. 8. 1999 - 14. 12. 2000)

--kelovy 12:50, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

That is excellent, thanks. Can I ask what was your source for this information - could you provide the URL if it was a website? And were the above all league games or does it include cup games as well? Many thanks once again. --Jameboy 19:01, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
hm, my source is little bit out of date (because that I didnt use their national team stats of Igor) and looks unofficial, but I believe them. These matches are just from regular league. I tried to find more in Slovak football sites, but without luck. Ice hockey is more popular in my land :) --kelovy 19:32, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

Ban[edit]

Hi! As you might have already noticed, I was banned from the Slovak Wikipedia first for 2 hours (by Bronto for threatening) and then for 6 months (by Bubamara for threatening+ill mouth). What do you think about that ban? Do you think I deserved the hostility all the time from the beginning? CoolKoon (talk) 17:31, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi... You are not right. Bronto never blocked You. 2 hours You got by Aton X for sentence which I understood as threat too ("or You want me to find admins and bother them other way ?"). Your next step - brutal profanity in Aton discussion page was not caused by anger or insulted soul, it was systematic attempt to be blocked for long time as part of Your plan to become martyr of Slovak nationalists. I am not great fan of Bubamara (we want to kick each other from admin chair:), but she has nothing with nationalism and is not interested about Your ethnic descent. I am really sorry, but You just got what You wanted. Such words we will never tolerate in Slovak wikipedia. If I saw this terrible contribution first, You would get ban from me (however probably not for 6 months). And You cant consider couple "no chat" templates as sign of hostility against You - by the way, You wasnt primary target, because I was that man :) If You would have one nice day serious interest to participate in our wiki, You will for sure welcome. Nice day and once more thank You for translating that Hungarian sentence :) Szia--kelovy (talk) 08:21, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
Fine. I know that it really wasn't nice of me to call the admins names. But at first I didn't wanted to insult anybody on Slovak Wikipedia. I was only tring to discuss with MarkBA his attitude towards Hungarians and articles related to Hungarians and Slovaks as well. Nothing else. Then Bubamara came and wrote to my talkpage detailing why is it a sin to use MarkBA's talkpage for discussion with MarkBA. And only after they've told me that discussion is not welcome on the Slovak Wikipedia and talking about some "mortal sins" I've committed there have I asked them whether it's better if I'd use some proxy servers to poke them around or bother them in person (although I'd never do anything like that). After that I've said that discussion is still a better idea. And then AtonX has blocked me for 2 hours. Reason: threatening. Around that time I've asked at Bronto's talkpage that what's the problem with me. Bubamara has answered that it's the fact that I talk too much about things I'm not supposed to (WTF?!). And that I'm OTing ever since I came to the Slovak Wikipedia. And yeah, after that I've told her that she's stupid, arrogant and ignorant. But that was after the fact that she's proved to be very hostile to me ever since the beginning.
One more thing: after the 2 hour block I've edited the article on the Slovak Wikipedia about John Hunyadi. Actually I've renamed the article from "Ján Huňady" to "Ján Hunyadi" because the name Hunyadi is officially accepted. Then what happened? The site has been permanently protected because of "vandalism". Many others would've FOADed Bronto for this move and a brutal flamewar would've been started (until the admin would've blocked all the users for good or for 6 months etc.).
One more thing is the Slovak article about Lajos Batthyány which they've spelled like "Ľudivít Baťán". The problem with that is that it's spelled like that for a reason. The reason is that it's a nobleman's name and they've always had some "special" spelling, since correctly it would be spelled Battyányi in Hungarian. Unfortunately the Slovak spelling used on Wikipedia doesn't reflect efen the pronunciation (which should be Baťťáni). I've complained about this on Bubamara's talkpage without any result.
Because of the two things above (the Hunyadi and Batthyány thing) it's very unlikely that I'll return to the Slovak Wikipedia (even after 18. november). I think that it would end in a permban or a ban for another 6 months for (repeated) vandalism given the fact that the correct Hungarian spelling has been completely eradicated from the whole encyclopedia and they would probably "reward" me with another bans for trying to correct those "mistakes". CoolKoon (talk) 10:34, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

As I see You like to use profanities in discussion pages... I greatly appreciate that now it is only in abbrevation form and You didnt attack me... but is there some chance to reduce that in the future ? What is worse, You like to "play with true", I read You recent post in Elonka discussion... Now it is obvious, Your ban in sk wiki was sophistically prepared by Yourself.

You know that I liked to read Your communication with Mark and strongly opossed stop chat templates. But Your last contribution in that discussion was simply inadequate, You received right short ban from Aton. What You did after two hours I dont have to mention again...

About Huňady and Baťán - every language has its own names for historical personalities (including Hungarian), our are regulated by Slovak Language Institute. Yes, it is possible that sometimes the name was made by less accurate way, but (American) Indians also never lived in India.

If You will change dark sides of Your behaviour, I have no problem to unblock You, there is no doubt about Your intelligency and knowledge. First condition is to stop Your preteding to be Hungarian martyr, victim of malicous chauvinists of Slovak wikipedia. Szia--kelovy (talk) 11:33, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
