Disambiguation link notification for January 7[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Taiwanese Plains Aborigines, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Yam (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:19, 7 January 2018 (UTC)

American film stubs[edit]

Hello! Just a reminder, for American films the country stub tags should only be used as a last resort. There are over 25,000 Stub-class film articles that fall under the American cinema task force, so when adding stub articles about American films to {{WikiProject Film}}, please use a more appropriate genre stub tag on those articles, instead of the stub tags in Category:American film stubs. Thanks! Fortdj33 (talk) 14:05, 21 March 2018 (UTC)

April 2018[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Kautilya3. I noticed that you made one or more changes to an article, Indian Independence Act 1947, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Kautilya3 (talk) 09:38, 4 April 2018 (UTC)

Edit summaries[edit]

When you save an edit, please take the time to include an edit summary. That helps everyone understand better the changes you made to the article. Thank you. L293D ( • ) 23:26, 6 April 2018 (UTC)

June 2018[edit]

Information icon Before adding a category to an article, as you did to The Devil's Advocate (1997 film), please make sure that the subject of the article really belongs in the category that you specified according to Wikipedia's categorization guidelines. Categories must also be supported by the article's verifiable content. Categories may be removed if they are deemed incorrect for the subject matter. Thank you. DonIago (talk) 16:18, 25 June 2018 (UTC)

Wikilinking[edit]

Please don't go and add Wikilinks for presses such as Oxford UP. It's not necessary. No one is going to click from the reference section of an article to find the article on that press. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 16:55, 17 August 2018 (UTC)

ArbCom 2018 election voter message[edit]

Scale of justice 2.svgHello, Maximajorian Viridio. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)

Your change to Ted Bundy has been reverted. You have failed to heed the warning above on your Talk page. Wikilinks are unnecessary on publishing/book details. Thank you, David J Johnson (talk) 18:14, 15 January 2019 (UTC)

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
