Fame at last...[edit]

How does Wikipedia deal with a mass shooting? A frenzied start gives way to a few core editors. No mention of me though:). Nice diagrams, and a quick look at the page histories of shooting incidents will show a core of regular editors.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 17:30, 19 December 2012 (UTC)

HI WWGB, I'm a researcher at Sydney Uni and would like to contact you. I'm not sure how best to do this and hoping this message somehow reaches you....Doctor 17. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Doctor 17 (talkcontribs) 08:45, 18 April 2017 (UTC)

Were you aware?[edit]

I assume that you have been made aware of this. But, in the event that you were not, I wanted to point it out to you and bring this to your attention. Your name was mentioned in this article: How does Wikipedia deal with a mass shooting? A frenzied start gives way to a few core editors. Thanks. Joseph A. Pell[edit]

While Pell is currently legally guilty, it is best to have a description that reflects this undisputed fact, not an opening sentence that treats the verdict is correct since it is an extremely controversial one even amongst barristers and judges. Not saying this to defend Pell, but it seems best to ensure the opening can`t become overly dated very quickly. It might add in the future that his conviction was overturned by the High Court or that his appeal was denied. The description child sexual offender could retroactively come to be regard as libelous however. It also isn`t necessary in describing the facts. Unless Wikipedia treats legal verdicts as binding and factual but there seems to be no such policy. 83.128.99.144 (talk) 12:48, 7 October 2019 (UTC)

Fashion Faux Pas[edit]

A stab at notability....[edit]

Hi - thanks for nominating Manchester Arndale stabbing for deletion - I first tagged it as suspected non-notable, so I am in agreement. I just wondered what your opinion was of the array of articles in Category:Stabbing attacks - I only discovered this category yesterday and it seems to hold a large number of unfortunate, but pretty non-notable events. Are there any criteria for having individual articles on stabbing attacks, or is Wikipedia to become a repository of every knife attack anywhere in the world? I wonder if these should be mostly deleted? Cnbrb (talk) 11:00, 13 October 2019 (UTC)
