Disruption on Somalia[edit]

Hope you are well Yamaguchi. I was wondering if you could take a look at Somalia, editor Wadaad has been edit warring on it, they seem to be wanting to change the map against previous consensus on the talk page [1]. I have given them 3 edit warring warnings [2] and requested they perform a self-revert multiple times, to no avail. They've been previously blocked for the same edit warring behaviour [3]. Is it possible to restore consensus version of the map and protect the article? Regards Kzl55 (talk) 21:05, 9 July 2019 (UTC)

Two people (both separatists) does not make a consensus, especially not on such an important topic as national borders. Wadaad (talk) 21:12, 9 July 2019 (UTC)

Hello Kzl55 and Wadaad, thank you both for reaching out. If I understand correctly, is the concern that the caption text does not align with the image c:File:Somalia (orthographic projection).svg being presented? [4] The map caption text reads: "Area controlled by Somalia shown in dark green; claimed but uncontrolled region (Somaliland) shown in light green" yet the image displayed is all the same shade of green. The article in question is already semi-protected. There are administrative options available in this case, but I would prefer not to protect The Wrong Version, nor would I like to see anyone blocked for violating WP:3RR. Preference would be to see this resolved on the respective talk page, but seeing that there is now a thread at WP:AN will allow time for additional input on that end as well. Regards, Yamaguchi先生 (talk) 21:40, 9 July 2019 (UTC)

Hi Yamaguchi. Many thanks for getting back. There are two versions of the map, one that highlights dispute regarding Somaliland [5], and one that does not [6]. Editor Wadaad seems to be edit warring to push their preferred version (one that does not show Somaliland) despite there being a previous discussion on the matter in the article's talk page [7], a discussion that ended in favour of showing the 1st version (showing BOTH Somaliland and Somalia) inline with precedent set by other maps (e.g. India, Morocco, Pakistan, China...etc etc. I have asked them multiple times to keep the version that was agreed upon by previous discussion, and start a new discussion if they so wish, but they just bulldozed their preferred version regardless of previous consensus and did not respond to requests to perform a self-revert. They seem to have given themselves the ability to define what is consensus and what isn't, this is whats problematic, particularly given that they were blocked previously for similar behaviour. Kzl55 (talk) 21:50, 9 July 2019 (UTC)
@Yamaguchi先生: 1) The map on wikipage Somaliland is not the same as the claimed area on Kzl55's proposed map 2) Somaliland is not the only area not under control by Somalia's government. See various maps on Somali Civil War neglecting other regions to push Kzl55's POV. 3) He only has the support of one Somalilander (clear bias) and a Taiwanese editor (also another biased individual invovled in a recognition dispute). He claims to have a consensus but I do not believe he does. Wadaad (talk) 22:09, 9 July 2019 (UTC)

You have edited page titled "Tamang People" where you removed field tamang served in Britist gorkha and Indian Gorkha Regiment, I don't know why you did that but it is true, Just search google Tamang in britist or indian or nepali gorkha you will find many results., And also I am from Nepal , I have seen many Tamang people who have lama as surename, it proves they had influence of Buddhism,. Please try to talk or reply if you want to , — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jiakoen (talkcontribs) 20:08, 15 July 2019 (UTC)

Hello, I'm a Kolkatan & requesting u to make corrections with proper info. Here I'm giving citations. Kolkata Megacity doesnt indicate Kolkata district only, but also large parts of North & South 24 Parganas district. When u make any major rectification of other countries (except ur homeland), u should be cautious & careful, otherwise it turns out a ridiculous work. Soumo Dutt 06:46, 20 July 2019 (UTC)

Hi Yam, might I please trouble you to look at Wikipedia_talk:Noticeboard_for_India-related_topics#Award_ribbon_inclusion and determine if there is a consensus or not? The issue is about whether or not award ribbons should be included in bulleted lists. If so, would you consider whether or not it should be closed or if other people should be pinged. Thank you, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:07, 27 July 2019 (UTC)

Walnut Iowa[edit]

I'm baffled at why my extensive contributions to this page were entirely undone. It took me several hours to create this valid, accurate history and notable people additions. The content was reverted to previous state, which had one accurate statement but only a single sentence. And that reference was from "a history of pott county", known to be an unreliable source to us amateur historians. Please undo your undoings! I am with walnut's museum, and what i added was accurate in every way. Cecils6th (talk) 03:08, 6 August 2019 (UTC)

I am myself a resident of Tezpur and all local data has been added after visiting those sites. Moreover, I have given references wherever I feel is required. I would advise you to check through data available elsewhere if my sources don't satisfy you. Digjam Sarma (talk) 04:41, 28 August 2019 (UTC)

Bhavnagar Airport[edit]

Hello there. Per my request back in Feb, you had protected the article for along duration (6 months) due to disruptive edits from the same person (IPs). This vandal is now back with the same edits. Although, right now, it is the same range IP address, it might change like before, so is it possible either for a longer semi-protection or a PC protection (again for a long duration)?  LeoFrank  Talk 06:36, 2 September 2019 (UTC)

A barnstar for you![edit]

Kindness Barnstar Hires.png The Random Acts of Kindness Barnstar
In this day and age, you have been a breath of fresh air for me. Over the 6 years I have been editing Wikipedia, positive people like you are very much needed and, I am sorry to say, now only a precious few left on Wikipedia staff that also think of encouraging other editors by sending them little 'thank you' notes, if they see some effort by other editors. In my experience, majority of Wikipedia people are too busy or 'too stressed out' to think about the environment we are creating for ourselves and the overall Wikipedia community. Banning Help[edit]

Hi Yamaguchi

Can you please expand and ban this for atleast lifetime or atleast a month ? that person is editing a page of Pakistani Army Spokesperson Major General Asif Ghafoor sir , i have reverted the page now as he had added abusive text on wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by پاک آرمی زندہ باد (talkcontribs) 20:03, 17 September 2019 (UTC)

Hello پاک آرمی زندہ باد, thank you for contacting me. This IP has been blocked for a period of 72 hours. Should this person resume disruption at a later date, it is unlikely they will have the same IP address. You are welcome to contact me in any event. Regards, Yamaguchi先生 (talk) 20:06, 17 September 2019 (UTC)

Can you unprotect the page again as team of Asif Ghafoor want that page to be unprotected.

Edit disruption on Lughaya pages[edit]

Hi Yamaguchi, there has been countless edit disruptions on the Lughaya pages that I believe warrants serious page protection.

I have sourced and referenced the demographics of the town with at least three different published works. See:

Unfortunately for a few years now, the page didn't get the privilege of protected status as I believe it should have, especially considering it has been the target of edit vandalism from non registered users for a long time. Would be grateful if you could look at the history of vandalism this page has gone through.

Thank you.
