Administrator instructions

To report an error on today's or tomorrow's Main Page, please add it to the appropriate section below.

  • Where is the error? An exact quote of all or part of the text in question will help.
  • Offer a correction if possible.
  • References are helpful, especially when reporting an obscure factual or grammatical error.
  • Time zones: The current date and time is displayed in Coordinated Universal Time (08:01 on 24 March 2019), not adjusted to your local time zone.
  • Do not use {{edit fully-protected}}, which will not give you a faster response, and in fact causes problems if used here. (See the bottom of this revision for an example.)
  • Done? Once an error has been fixed, or has rotated off the Main Page, or has been acknowledged as not an error, the error report will be removed from this page; please check the page's history for discussion and action taken.
  • No chit-chat: Lengthy discussions should be moved to a suitable location elsewhere.
  • Can you fix the issue yourself? If the error is with the content of an article linked from the main page, consider attempting to fix the problem rather than reporting it here.

Today's OTD[edit]

The entry for Anne Hutchinson links to Antinomianism but she did not teach that Christians weren't bound by moral law (that's Antinomianism), she taught that they weren't bound by the law of the State, that is, she taught anarchism. Regardless, the reason for her expulsion involved her stances on free will vs. predestination, faith vs. works and other doctrinal issues on which the Massachusetts puritans considered her position heretical. The blurb is misleading about the official reasons as well as the more speculative underlying reasons which might have involved her political dissident tendencies (such as not ascribing legitimacy or rightful jurisdiction to the colony's laws). Aoeuaoi (talk) 14:22, 22 March 2019 (UTC)

@Aoeuaoi: This is no longer on the Main Page, but Hutchinson's article defines "antinomianism" as meaning that "the moral law is not binding upon Christians, who are under the law of grace." As the blurb defers to the article, if the latter is incorrect, you'll have to take it up on Talk:Anne Hutchinson and have it fixed there before we do anything to the content on the Main Page. howcheng {chat} 04:05, 23 March 2019 (UTC)

Bob Bachelder[edit]

"...that teacher by day, bandleader at night, those who knew Bob Bachelder in one role likely were unaware of the other?"

This strikes me as iffy wording. I suggest changing "that teacher" to "that as he was a teacher". Eman235/talk 00:35, 24 March 2019 (UTC)

Not exactly an error, but I would suggest that with the IndyCar Classic article, a note be added to the article that until 2007, IRL and F1 raced at the same speedway (Indianapolis), albeit F1 used the road course while IRL used the oval. That article is not protected, so you or anyone may edit it like any other article. Art LaPella (talk) 02:12, 24 March 2019 (UTC)
