IMPORTANT NOTICE!!!  Effective October 1, 2019  all notaries – new and renewing – must take and pass the online notary exam before applying for a notary commission.  You must include the exam certificate with your application, bond and filing fee.  Additionally, when you submit your updated bond, check to make sure the bond amount is for $25,000.

October 1 – NOTARY LAW CHANGES
The 66th Montana Legislature has enacted several changes to Montana’s Notary Laws in Title 1, Chapter 5, Part 6 of the Montana Code Annotated. You may read the complete unofficial version of that part of the code in the new edition of the Montana Notary Public Handbook – 2019.
