Zara Tindall cheekily stuck her tongue out today as she took part in the Blenheim Horse Trials - but failed to do well in the dressage category, coming in at 38th place. 

The Queen's granddaughter, 38, donned a top hat and traditional uniform as she took to the saddle of her horse Watkins.     

Her bad scores for the trials come after her she took a tumble at Burghley Trials just two weeks ago.

The daughter of Princess Anne was competing at the event in Stamford, Lincolnshire, at the beginning of September, when she fell during a showjumping event.

Watkins was also dressed for the event and wore a blue wool hat - keeping his ears and head warm.

The mother-of-two tied her blonde hair back to keep it off her face, and not obscure her view for the equestrian event.

Taking place at one of Britain’s most beautiful and historic venues and the home to home of the Dukes of Marlborough, the event boasted shopping, arena attractions, an array of food and drink and children’s entertainment. 

The first two days of the event will consist of dressage competitions, with the weekend hosting cross-country and show jumping.

Zara has had a busy few weeks of competing and has kept up her tight trials schedule after enjoying various riding events this summer.  

Zara's is married to Mike Tindall, 40, and they have to children Mia, five, and Lena, one - who normally cheer the royal on from the sides.

Zara has previously won a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics as part of the Great Britain Eventing Team.

Just last week Zara made her return to horse riding at the Whatley Manor Horse Trials after she took the tumble at Burghley Trials. 

Her husband Mike and adorable daughters looked on as she fell during the showjumping event at the event in Stamford, Lincolnshire.
