'Venables is up for parole any time now and if it is granted, he will be released into the community under a fake name and secret new identity,' he told the Mirror.

'He is a dangerous, predatory child abuser and killer and I am terrified he will strike again and harm another child like my James.'

Ralph said he has 'begged' the parole board to deny his son's killer an early release on the grounds that he 'will never be safe around children.'

He said: 'There is a whole new generation of young parents with kids who knew nothing about Venables when he murdered James 26 years ago.

'They need to be warned that this monster could be living next door to them any day soon.'

James was the victim of one of the UK's most heinous and notorious crimes in modern memory when he was beaten to death with a brick on a railway line by Venables and Robert Thompson.

Venables and  been given numerous different identities since his first conviction in 1993 but is continuously outed by outraged members of the public.

Along with fellow killer Robert Thompson, he was granted lifelong anonymity once they were released from custody - Thompson has never been heard of again.

Venables, on the other hand, has been jailed twice more after admitting to owning more than 1,000 'sickening' child porn images as well as a paedophile manual.
