Sky Sports presenter Faye Carruthers has criticised a train passenger for putting her bare feet on an empty seat. 

The broadcaster and journalist posted a picture on Twitter showing a pair of female feet on the Thameslink service, inches away from a folded up newspaper and backpack. 

Ms Carruthers shared the image with her 25,000 followers with the caption: 'So wrong on so many levels... #people'.

Disgusted social media users heaped scorn upon the barefoot commuter, branding her 'gross' and 'utter bloody riff-raff'.

The train appears to be one of Thameslink's. The service runs from Bedford, Luton, Peterborough and Cambridge via central London to Sutton, Orpington, Sevenoaks, Rainham, Horsham and Brighton.  

One response to Ms Carruthers' post said: 'It does look weird but be honest if it was summer, they were wearing shorts and just slipped off a pair of flip flops I bet you’d be fine with it.'
