Lulu's performance comes months after she took to social media to admit that she was forced to stand while travelling on a packed train in London.

The singer, who will turn 71 in November, posted a snap of herself having to stand during her journey on her way to the O2 arena in May.

The star, who is known for her youthful appearance, told fans on Instagram: 'On the way to work at the O2 London tonight...and nobody gave this old bird a seat on the tube #oap.’

The singer has previously told fans that the secret to her youthful appearance was maintaining a good skincare regime and not wearing too much make up.

Speaking to The Express in 2010 she said: 'For young people it doesn't matter so much about how much make-up they apply but when you're older, less is definitely more.

'Too much make-up can give you the eccentric Aunty Sally look!'

She also added that removing make-up was equally as important when it came to looking after one's skin.

She continued: 'Always take off your make-up before bed. I am religious about this and always have been and apply night cream.'
