Kylie Minogue set to belt out her biggest hits alongside Mark Ronson at Strictly Come Dancing's launch ahead of much-anticipated new series

She's already had two dazzling performances under her belt this year after taking to that stage at Brighton Pride and Glastonbury.

But Kylie Minogue is set to have another glittering appearance as she is going to open this year's Strictly Come Dancing launch show.

The singer, 51, will be joined by DJ Mark Ronson, 43, as they kick off the much anticipated new series of the BBC One show.

The Spinning Around hitmaker will belt out a medley of her biggest hits, and as per usual on the show, will be surrounded by a plethora of professional dancers.

According to The Sun, Her performance is set to come before this year's crop of celebrities find out who they will be paired with.

Meanwhile, Mark will apparently perform with YEBBA, with them providing the music as the famous faces take to the floor for the very first time for their group dance.

The news comes as Anneka Rice was recently announced as the final star to be confirmed for this year's Strictly Come Dancing, making her the 15th celebrity headed to the ballroom.

Speaking about the announcement earlier this month, Anneka said: 'I haven’t danced since I was 7 and Miss Beer sent me home from my ballet class because I was hopelessly uncoordinated...

'My family and friends haven’t seen me dance since, not at a wedding or round a handbag so it’s going to be a challenge for my partner. In fact I’ve asked for two, one on each side. I can’t see myself in a long frilly dress either...

'But I’m feeling recklessly excited. Strictly has always been my Autumn’s entertainment and now I’m part of it! My children will probably leave the country!'

As well as television, Anneka presented the BBC Radio 2 Saturday Breakfast Show from 2012 to 2017, and she fronted the award-winning podcast Fortunately.

Meanwhile, she is also a patron of Help For Heroes, Operation Encompass and Horatio's Garden.

Hours before, Olympic rower James Cracknell joined the line-up, following reports that he was 'banned' from taking part last year by his wife, the 47-year-old sportsman revealed he'd signed on for the 2019 series on GMB.

Speaking to hosts Ben Shepherd and Kate Garraway, James confessed that he was yet to tell his mother about the news, as he was told to keep it top secret.

He admitted: 'I haven't told my mum yet, we got told not to tell anyone. She'll be going, 'No, what's he doing.'' James added: 'Yeah I know what I'm in for and I've had some mates who have done it as well.

'It's going to be really interesting having no confidence and being, 'Okay, can I do it?'

James previously admitted he was banned from taking part in Strictly last year by his wife because she was wary of the glamorous professional dancers – and the 'Strictly Curse' that has triggered a string of very public break-ups among the celebs.

James was previously said to have been approached to do Strictly but wife Beverley Turner reportedly banned him from appearing in the show due to the programme's infamous 'curse'.

Beverley, 45, his wife of 17 years who nursed him back to health after a near fatal brain injury, had previously refused to let him take part in the show because she 'didn't want him having some Russian f***y in his face every week'.

While the couple - who have three kids, Croyde, Kiki and Trixie - separated in March, James said Bev has been 'really supportive' of his decision to compete on the show, and his children are 'really embarrassed' for him.

Asked how his kids feel about it, he said: 'They have a very similar feeling in that they're really embarrassed for me. I did tell them.

'Bev was supported and the kids went, "No!" Croyde was like, "You've got to get some dad dancing in the routine."

Quizzed on whether the curse has 'crossed [his] mind now he's a single man', he said: 'It's more that you're spending so much time with someone and you've only got so much time in your day, so you do become slightly obsessed with it.

'Apparently I have quite an addictive personality. But the biggest challenge for me is to give myself permission to look stupid, fail, let yourself off the leash, whereas other stuff I quite like being in control.'

In a statement, James added: 'I'm really looking forward to being a part of Strictly this year.

'Having spent so many years mucking around in a rowing boat with big men in tight lycra, it's time I learned a new skill. I need to apologise to my kids in advance for the embarrassment.'

James was quick to show off his fancy footwork as he waltzed along the Good Morning Britain studios with Kate Garraway - who herself took part in Strictly  in 2007.

Despite being quick to jump on the dancefloor, it appears James' skills leave a lot to be desired as he was called out by pal Ben Fogle on Twitter.

Upon hearing the news, Ben posted: 'Didn’t we once win the joint worst dancer prize at a wedding? The Fogle’s will be cheering for you buddy x'

Revealing that his dodgy dance skills are nothing new, James responded: 'Yeah buddy, altho I have won many worst dancer awards! X'

The exciting announcement was made by Jordan North, who was standing in on Nick Grimshaw's BBC Radio 1 show on Tuesday.

Ready to go: The news comes after the thirteenth contestant to join Strictly was revealed as Dev Griffin. The exciting announcement was made by Jordan North on BBC Radio 1

Dev is best known for presenting on BBC Radio 1, but gained a fair few fans when he become a Celebrity Masterchef finalist in 2017.

He also appeared in SAS: Who dares wins earlier this year, but became the fourth star to quit after he endured four hours of tortuous interrogation techniques.

He began his career in children's television, with the star, known as DJ Devstar, hosting popular kids show Smile with his pal Reggie Yates and Fearne Cotton.

Congrats: DJ and radio presenter Dev, 34, said of his latest role: 'I just can¿t believe I¿m doing Strictly, it just doesn¿t feel real yet!'

However he left the show in 2003 to focus on his radio career.

After landing his own show hosting BBC's 1Xtra, he then moved on to BBC Radio 1 where he fronted much-coveted Weekend breakfast show before taking over the now popular weekend afternoon shows on Radio 1 from 1-4pm with Alice Levine.

Speaking about the news on his radio show on Tuesday, the star revealed: 'One thing that people don't know is that I'm actually really good at dancing!'

He then admitted that he didn't even tell his mum the good news ahead of the announcement.

Opening up to radio host Jordan, Dev explained: 'I want to tell you a little story. In 1996 I entered a dance competition at the Pontins holiday park.

Competitive: 'It¿s going to be so much fun, but just to be clear, I¿m not doing this to take part, I¿m totally in it to win it!'

Competitive: 'It's going to be so much fun, but just to be clear, I'm not doing this to take part, I'm totally in it to win it!'

'I tried my very best. I danced to MC Hammer's Can't Touch This. I was slighted, I came second and I swore retribution.

'As as I walked away from those Red Coats I said, 'One day I'm going to take part in a dance competition and get really good and you will rue the day you slighted me.

'Fast forward to 2019 I'm going to be on this year's series of Strictly Come Dancing.'

The announcement comes hot of the heels of the revelation earlier on Tuesday that footballer Alex Scott has also signed up to the BBC One show.

Over the past month, Strictly have been announcing who's signed up for the show, with the line-up including Corrie actress Catherine Tyldesley, EastEnders star Emma Barton and YouTube sensation Saffron Barker.
