Amber Portwood and estranged boyfriend Andrew Glennon tied up in fight over cash: 'A lot of money went missing'
Amber Portwood and estranged boyfriend Andrew Glennon are tied up in a dispute over money following their fight last month in which Portwood was arrested in connection with domestic violence.
Before the July 5 fight, an insider told US that 'a lot of money went missing from Amber's and Andrew's joint bank account,' which left the Teen Mom OG star, 29, 'suspicious' of Glennon, who she shares a one-year-old son James with.
'Amber wanted Andrew to contribute to their family on some level and that is an issue that had been brewing,' the source said, adding that 'Amber is very trusting.'
The latest: Amber Portwood and estranged boyfriend Andrew Glennon are also tied up in a fight over money, following their fight last month in which Portwood was arrested in connection with domestic violence
'At first when she noticed there was some money gone she did not want to make an issue out of it even though she is fully supporting their family financially,' the insider told the publication.
Other financial entanglements have complicated the sensitive situation, a source close to Glennon told the magazine.
Glennon inadvertently spent a large sum of money 'on inauthentic items at an auction,' which is currently in the courts as result of a lawsuit.
Their bank account was also targeted with unauthorized transactions in California and Georgia, leading them to suspend the account, with Portwood demanding they withdraw 'all the money from their joint account' and put it in a safe, according to the Glennon insider.
Stressful: Glennon averaged about $1,500 daily as a day-trader, the source said, and struggled to make ends meet supporting the family, an insider told US
Embattled: Portwood last month was arrested at the family's Indianapolis, Indiana home in connection with domestic battery, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and domestic battery in the presence of a child
Glennon averaged about $1,500 daily as a day trader, the source said, and struggled to make ends meet supporting the family, the Glennon insider told US.
'Andrew just recently paid for both of Amber's car notes, her phone bill, the electrical bill, gas, cable bill, roof repairs, her furniture financing, James' recent vaccinations, as well as all of his food and necessities,' the source said. 'Every check Andrew would bring in would be quickly spent on the upkeep of the house.'
Portwood was unable to live within her means with 'unnecessary life expenses' including multiple Doordash food deliveries daily, and an amassment of clothes she'd order, but might or might not wear depending on how they fit.
'She would just throw them in a huge pile in her closet and never once think to return them,' said the source.
Better times: The couple has seen their relationship deteriorate the past two months
A separate source with ties to Amber disputed the account, saying that the reality star made 'all the money' in the household, noting that she 'gave him many thousands to day trade with.'
The Portwood insider added that 'the only checks [Glennon] brought in were from Teen Mom, a show that Amber is on that he's a part of because of her.'
Portwood last month was arrested at the family's Indianapolis, Indiana home in connection with domestic battery, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and domestic battery in the presence of a child after he told police she brandished a machete during a row. She was subsequently granted supervised visits with her son.
Portwood is also mother to daughter Leah, 10, with ex Gary Shirley, who she was also in a domestic dispute with during their relationship: She was pleaded guilty to two domestic battery charges in June of 2011 in connection with her attack on Shirley in a 2009 Teen Mom clip.
Claim to fame: Portwood has been a staple on MTV since debuting on 16 and Pregnant in 2009
