Real Housewives Of New York star Luann de Lesseps confirms Season 12 will feature a new cast member... following Barbara Kovovit's exit

The Real Housewives of New York will be getting a new housewife in Season 12, according to Luann de Lesseps.

The 54-year-old reality star appeared on Sirius XM's The Michelle Collins Show, where she mentioned castmate Ramona Singer saying she wants Missy Pool to be cast in the new season.

But de Lesseps shot down the idea, revealing it wasn't going to be Pool because she 'think[s] they already cast somebody else.'

'Can't tell you who, but I think they did,' de Lesseps said. 'I'm not sure, but... don't quote me.'

When asked if this new housewife was married or single, de Lesseps kept her cards close to her chest.

'I don't know, I can't tell you that. I don't know much about this person,' she said.

Pool was previously dating de Lesseps' ex-husband Tom D'Agostino Jr. but it doesn't seem she's going to be part of the main RHONY cast this season.

The new cast member will likely be replacing Barbara Kavovit, who's been featured on the show off and on since Season 3.

Kavovit, who was featured in a 'friend' role in Season 11, was asked by a fan on Instagram if she was coming back to the show, and she replied, 'don’t think so love.'

Kavovit has been keeping plenty busy away from the show, releasing her first novel Heels of Steel in June.

Kavovit had previously told US Weekly that she would consider returning to the show if the producers were to ask her.

'There’s still things that are left undone,' she said in June. 'And I kind of might want to get back into it and, you know, they filmed so much of me on my job sites, but they never aired it.

'And I just think that I’m really grounded and I think I lend something to that group. At least that’s what I’ve been told.”

While Bravo hasn't issued an official renewal for Season 12 of Real Housewives of New York, production is expected to begin around Labor Day, with the show returning sometime in 2020.

There had also been rumors that Tinsley Mortimer was being removed from the show, but those turned out to be untrue.

Mortimer and de Lesseps will return for Season 12 alongside Bethenny Frankel, Dorinda Medley, Sonja Morgan and Ramona Singer.
