DMX and girlfriend Desiree Lindstrom got engaged Sunday after a brief breakup.
The 48-year-old popped the question to Lindstrom at a Sky Zone kids' park, where they threw a birthday party for their three-year-old son Exodus.
The proposal was seen in a clip published on TMZ Monday, as the rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons, explained the unlikely turn the day had taken.

'We were supposed to be getting married but earlier today, we broke up,' he said, 'that's why she had a ring on her necklace.'
The New York native then dropped to one knee and presented Lindstrom with an engagement ring, and the pair embraced. Insiders told the site that the couple has been together for eight years, and engaged for almost four of them.
Lindstrom on Sunday posted a selfie with the Party Up (Up in Here) artist, adding a caption with the hashtags, #onelove, #exodusparents and #partytime.
She also shared a shot of Exodus in a ball-pit at the bash, writing, 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY LOVELY SON!!!!

Lindstrom and Exodus were on hand in January after the rapper was let out of West Virginia's Gilmer Federal Correctional Institution, where he was in custody for about a year following a tax evasion conviction, according to the outlet.
The rap artist in November 2017 entered a guilty plea to tax fraud between the years of 2010-2016, with officials saying he concealed '$1.7 million of tax liabilities' in the time frame.
The musical artist, as condition of his release, was slated to attend substance abuse counseling and repay debts of $2.3 million in unpaid taxes and penalties. He remains on supervised release through 2022, Vulture reported.
