Lisa Armstrong arrives at Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals to begin her duties as head make-up artist... ahead of new series

She's the head make-up artist on Strictly Come Dancing and Lisa Armstrong headed to rehearsals on Tuesday to begin another season of hard work.

The ex-wife of Ant McPartlin, 42, had a big smile on her face as she got to be one of the first people to get to know this year's line-up.

No doubt busy Lisa is already planning what style of make-up the contestants will have.

Each show requires a number of different hair and make-up changes, with an incredibly fast turnaround and all require planning a week in advance.

Lisa was dressed casually for the outing, wearing a jumper with slim-fitting black jeans and trainers.

She carried a large Louis Vuitton handbag and shielded her eyes with oversized glasses and her grey cropped tresses slicked back.

Lisa was in high spirits as she arrived at the studio in her car for the first full day of rehearsals, which will see the celebrity contestants meet their professional partners for the first time.

The outing comes after she appeared to acknowledge her ex-husband Ant's, who has since moved on with their former PA Anne-Marie Corbett, work on BGT: The Champions on Twitter on Sunday.

The make-up artist 'liked' a tweet posted by David Walliams of himself between Ant and Dec, captioned with the phrase: 'I love @antanddec,' along with another snap of the star with co-judge Simon Cowell.

Lisa and Ant were recently said to have had a stand-off after she refused him entry to their former marital home.

The TV presenter is understood to have arrived at the west London property the couple formerly shared to collect some of his remaining possessions after arranging the visit through lawyers.

And she has since 'liked' tweets which claim she was right to do so because it's 'her home' as well as a post about toxic people not controlling her anymore.

Ant McPartlin released a statement in January last year that he and Lisa, who were married for 12 years, were to split.

They were granted a divorce during a 30-second hearing at the Central Family Court in October.

They first met in Newcastle in 1994 before exchanging vows at a stunning country house in Buckinghamshire, in 2006.

Cracking on: Olympic rower James was banned from taking part in Strictly last year

Name: James Cracknell

Age: 47

Famous for? Olympic champion oarsman

About James: Olympic rower James was banned from taking part in Strictly Come Dancing last year by his wife because she was wary of the glamorous professional dancers – and the ‘Strictly Curse’ that has triggered a string of very public break-ups among the celebs. Now, just a month after being granted a divorce, the double Olympic champion oarsman has signed up as a contestant on this year’s series of the hit BBC show. His decision to take part in Britain’s biggest entertainment show comes just months after his split from Beverley Turner, his wife of 17 years who nursed him back to health after a near fatal brain injury. Beverley, 45, had previously refused to let him take part in the show because she ‘didn’t want him having some Russian f***y in his face every week’.

James says: 'I’m really looking forward to being a part of Strictly this year. Having spent so many years mucking around in a rowing boat with big men in tight lycra, it’s time I learned a new skill. I need to apologise to my kids in advance for the embarrassment.'
