Real Housewives Of New York brings on entrepreneur Leah McSweeney to replace Bethenny Frankel

Just one day after Bethenny Frankel announced she's leaving Real Housewives Of New York, the Bravo reality series has found her replacement.

Entertainment Tonight reports that entrepreneur Leah McSweeney has already joined the cast, and has even started filming scenes for the hit show.

ET reached out to Bravo to comment on the casting, but the network doesn't comment on casting decisions.

The 36 year old McSweeney is the founder of the streetwear brand Married to the Mob, with a source revealing she is good friends with RHONY star Tinsley Mortimer.

'Leah is a friend of Tinsley [Mortimer's] and the two have already filmed a workout scene together,' the source added.

While this is the first we're hearing of the identity of a new RHONY housewife, a new cast member was teased earlier this week.

On Monday, RHONY star Luann de Lesseps appeared on Sirius XM's The Michelle Collins Show, where she said she heard a new housewife has been cast.

When Collins mentioned that she heard Ramona Singer wants her friend Missy Pool to be on the show, de Lesseps said she didn't think that was happening because she, 'think[s] they already cast somebody else.'

'Can't tell you who, but I think they did,' de Lesseps said. 'I'm not sure, but... don't quote me.'

When asked if this new housewife was married or single, de Lesseps kept her cards close to her chest.

'I don't know, I can't tell you that. I don't know much about this person,' she said.

Frankel's exit sent shockwaves through the Real Housewives of New York cast, since none of the other cast members were given a heads up, and found out about her exit in the press.

Sources claimed Frankel's exit was 'blindsiding,' while they also stated that production started on Season 12 on Wednesday.

After Frankel's exit, de Lesseps released a statement, wishing her former castmate Frankel the best.

'It's always sad to see a member of the housewives family go, especially a fellow OG. Bethenny and I have had our ups and downs, I choose to remember the ups. I wish her nothing but the best moving forward,' the statement read.
