Kit is most famous for his role in the hit HBO adaptation of George R. R. Martin's fantasy novels, which came to an end earlier this year.

And while it was one of the most hotly-anticipated final seasons for a TV show, fans were left bitterly disappointed by its rushed, unexpected ending.

A number of exciting announcements have already been made during the first day of Disney's D23 convention, where the company give fans a glimpse of whats to come over the next few years.

Kit was last seen in Game Of Thrones, where his character was banished beyond The Wall alongside the Wildlings as punishment for killing Daenerys Targaryen.

At the event, Disney revealed the poster for their first Star Wars TV show The Mandalorian, which stars Pedro Pascal in the title role.

They announced that the show will air on the company's forthcoming Disney+ streaming service from November 12, and episodes would be released weekly.

It was also revealed that Agents Of Shield actress Ming-Na Wen would be joining the cast of the show in an as-yet-untitled role.

The star's casting announcement comes after he ended his stint in an exclusive Connecticut wellness facility in early June, where he was being treated for stress and alcohol use.

After he checked out of the facility, a source told People: 'Since Kit left the Connecticut wellness centre, he is back in London with Rose.

'The two are enjoying the summer, spending time with family and friends. Kit seems well. And Rose seems happy that he is back in London,' the source continued.

'While he was in Connecticut, she was laying low. It seemed their focus was just getting Kit feeling better. And he does look better. Kit and Rose seem happy.'
