Natalie Portman tucks into a HUGE cookie as she gives a funny insight into her post-red carpet regime at the Toronto International Film Festival

She hit the red carpet in truly immaculate style at the Toronto International Film Festival screening of her forthcoming movie, Lucy In The Sky, on Thursday night.

And leading lady Natalie Portman offered an insight into her post-premiere regime via her Instagram stories, tucking into a huge vegan cookie and unravelling her intricate hairstyle in a series of funny snaps.

The Oscar-winning actress, 38, dazzled in a black one-shoulder Christian Dior gown and revealed her striking 'do was inspired by Claudia Cardinale's slick locks in The Pink Panther in 1963.

The screen star shared a picture on her Instagram story of the actress, now 81, in the movie and cross referenced it with her 'final result', perfected by make-up artist Lisa Storey. 

The Black Swan lead then showed the aftermath of the tidy hairstyle, sharing a picture of her locks wildly flailing as she took out several bobby pins. 

'So many bobby pins,' she wrote before sharing a snap of her eating a 'gigantic vegan cookie'. 

The actress looked in good spirits as she attended the premiere on Thursday night, posing with fans and fellow cast members at the city's Princess Of Wales Theatre.

'Loved reuniting with the team from @lucyintheskyfilm and also getting to meet so many of you who came to support us last night at #TIFF!' she wrote in the post accompanying an image of her laughing with her co-stars. 

Natalie's stunning dress featured a chic black bustier with a one-shoulder netted lace overlay and a wavy embroidered design. 

The hem of the dress featured a Victorian-style scalloped lace into a thick floor-length fringe.

The actress wore her hair back and parted down the middle, sporting black winged eyeliner and diamond stud earrings.

In the movie, loosely inspired by Lisa Nowak, Natalie stars as Lucy Cola, an astronaut who returns to earth after a lengthy mission, when her family life and an affair with another astronaut leads to a downward spiral. 

The movie also stars Mad Men's Jon Hamm, Zazie Beetz and former Downton Abbey star Dan Stevens.  

The actress is married to ballet dancer and choreographer Benjamin Millepied with whom she shares two children, son Aleph, eight, and daughter Amalia, two.

The couple met while filming ballet thriller Black Swan in 2010, which Natalie won a Best Actress Academy Award for.
