While 007 is known for his numerous steamy love affairs in the past, the pair shared a more polite and refined kiss, with Daniel placing his hand on the actress' shoulder for the scene.

Daniel and Léa were in character as they walked up a series of steps before they leaned in and shared a kiss, with Léa wrapping her arms around the actor.

The action star wore a navy shirt and beige trousers for the scene with brown suede shoes while Léa donned a ref floral printed dress with short sleeves.

Styling her blonde locks into an updo for the scene, the actress completed her look with a pair of cream heels and hoop earrings.

A large crane was set up at the top of the set of stairs Daniel and Léa stood on, with a camera attached at the end to capture every move of the scene.

In another shot, the actors could be seen sharing a laugh as they waited to film the scene before Daniel removed his navy shirt and sported a white tee.

Daniel appeared in high spirits for the day of filming as he could be seen laughing and chatting with crew members between takes.

The romantic scene likely came as a welcome break for the British star as he had been filming a gruelling action scene the day before.

Cameras rolled as Daniel wearily descended a set of winding stone steps with a bloody gash on his forehead suggesting he was searching for safety after another potential brush with death.

Stunt doubles and drivers have been a regular presence in Matera over recent weeks, with a second unit filming chase scenes around the town's winding, narrow streets.
