Patsy Palmer pays a visit to Gwyneth Paltrow's shaman and admits she finds his teachings 'so weird' during TV segment

Patsy Palmer decided to take a leaf out of Gwyneth Paltrow's book as she visited the Hollywood actresses' shaman in Los Angeles but ended up finding the experience 'so weird'.

The former EastEnders star, 47, has been living in LA for the last five years and decided to try and find inner peace with Shaman Durek on a video segment during Monday's episode of Lorraine.

Patsy went to a class held by the shaman but found the exercises unorthodox. At one point during a breathing exercise, the actress burst out laughing and said: 'Oh my God, this is so weird'.

Shaman Durek, who calls himself a 'global ambassador for love' responded by saying: 'Lets use a more educated word like, eye-opening.'

Patsy then tried another exercise with the shaman where he pointed at her and said 'resist me' several times, which had a greater effect on the actress.

Patsy said: 'I was resisting when he said he was resisting me and I did feel lighter.'

Shamanism is 'an ancient healing tradition' that focuses on people's connection to nature and promotes the well being of all creation, according to Shamanism.com

The soap star relocated to Malibu with Charley, 27, Fenton, 19, Emilia, 18, Bertie, eight, and designer company worker husband Richard Merkell five years ago.

Speaking to the camera about living in LA, Patsy said: 'We came here five years ago. Who wouldn’t want to wake up with the sun shining every day? I’ve learned so much taking myself away from the life I was in.

'If you can create something in your life that gives you the best of what you want, anything is possible.'

On her move and bumping into A-list celebrities such as Mary J Blige and Cindy Crawford, Patsy told The Sun's Fabulous Magazine: 'We just wanted to try something new, we have a pretty normal life in an extraordinary place.'

Her children have followed in her footsteps as Charley is a budding actor, while Fenton and Emilia are up-and-coming models.

Their close-knit relationship - in which the Grange Hill star admits to still sleeping in bed with her youngest child - has landed the family a reality TV show.
