The documentary maker and TV presenter, 32, won the prestigious Glitterball Trophy alongside her professional partner turned boyfriend Kevin Clifton, 36, in 2018 and will dust off her dancing shoes to front the 32-date event next year.

Stacey will be joined on stage by a selection of celebrities and professional dancers from the much awaited 17th series of the award-winning BBC One show, with judging and casting announcements to be made over the coming months.

The broadcaster spoke of her excitement at the new gig and said she is eager to get her dancing shoes back on somehow.

She said: 'I'm so excited to be joining the Strictly gang again and can't wait to experience it from a different perspective!

'I'm really looking forward to hosting the tour as I know it'll be a blast. I had such an amazing time last year, I hope I'll find a way to get those dancing shoes back on again too!'

Audiences across Britain and Ireland will be treated to roof-raising routines, and even have the power to decide who wins the coveted Glitterball Trophy.

The tour judges will provide their feedback and scores after each performance, however the audience can vote via text for their favourite couple, and it is ultimately their votes that will decide who wins.

Stacey performed a showdance to Land of A Thousand Dances by Wilson Pickett with dance partner and now boyfriend Kevin Clifton back in December 2018.

It was reported that Stacey's then-boyfriend Sam Tucknott was 'insanely jealous' of Stacey's close friendship with Kevin, despite her reassurance there was nothing romantic going on.

It was revealed in April that Kevin and Stacey were seeing each other, after her split from Sam.

The tour announcement comes after Kevin revealed that fellow pro dancer AJ Pritchard, 24, tried to steal Stacey from him during the show's secret 'speed-dating round.'

The ballroom champion made the surprise revelation in a one-off special that aired on Saturday, which offered an inside look at the stories of some of the show's biggest professional dancers.

Kevin explained that Stacey could very well have been partnered with another pro, after the stars took part in the speed dance which sees them briefly dance with each celebrity and pro before they are officially paired up.

He said: 'Last year with Stacey in the salsa circle I was going for it - bang, bang, bang - overdoing it.

'And then at one point we were on a coffee break and AJ interrupted us in the middle of us talking and took her away, because he wanted to get to know her and see what she was about. I was like, ''It's not Love Island, mate!'''

Tickets for the arena tour go on sale on September 20 at 9am.
