Wendy Williams accuses Christie Brinkley of faking injury that forced her out of Dancing With The Stars: 'That looked fake as hell'
Wendy Williams has accused Christie Brinkley of faking the injury that forced her out of Dancing With The Stars and plotting to get her daughter on the show.
During the premiere of season 11 of The Wendy Williams show the 55-year-old host addressed footage of the 65-year-old model tumbling over and breaking her arm during rehearsals last week and the decision to replace her with her 21-year-old daughter Sailor.
'Well, that looked fake as hell,' Wendy said after showing the clip of Christie tripping and falling backwards onto the ground.
Not having it: Wendy Williams has accused Christie Brinkley of faking the injury that forced her out of Dancing With The Stars and plotting to get her daughter on the show
Practicing: Christie Brinkley is seen practicing with her rumored partner Val for their opening number and all seems to be going well until she trips
Uh Oh! Her partner tries to reach for her and help her but it was too late and she had already landed on her arm
Not good: After she lands on her arm she is seen immediately grabbing it due to the pain. She later said she needs surgery
'Let me tell you what I see. I don't see a wrist and a shoulder being fractured. But that was real cute,' she said.
'Here's my thought: Dancing with the Stars called Christie Brinkley … and she said yes. After she got off the phone, that's when she plotted her schedule. … In my opinion, I think what Christie did was she signed up for Dancing with the Stars knowing that she'd put her daughter Sailor in there.'
Christie was appalled by the accusation and revealed she is 'totally shocked' over the news.
'I have been there for Wendy Williams. That is so weird,' she said before she began to cry while speaking to People. 'I have to give her a call … I'm really stunned.'
New season: Wendy had many hot takes on her new season this morning saying that Christie has been planning this stunt from the beginning and always planned to go to a couple rehearsals before tagging in her daughter to do the rest of the show
But that wasn't all Williams had to say. She went on to explain her theory of how the whole thing went down.
'Now, you know, Sailor is beautiful,' she said about the blonde beauty who is the spitting image of her mother.
'She's a Sports Illustrated model, but that's not as big as being a Kendall Jenner. In order for girls to get this leg up, it takes more than beauty, you have to have cache. And that Dancing with the Stars has got a lot of eyeballs watching, and Christie really doesn't need that. You know who she is. She doesn't have to dance with the stars for you to know who she is. So my thought is that she said, 'Look, Sailor, here's what we we're going to do. I'm going to go to a few of these practices, I'm going to go on Good Morning America, get all the press and stuff, I'm going to walk around looking hot and sexy, and then I'm going to play like I broke something.' And she did break something, allegedly. Although Christie, I must tell you, there wasn't a believing person in my entire bureau meeting this morning.'
She ended her rant by saying that she doesn't believe 'people will care about Sailor Brinkley' adding that 'at least Christie, at 65, won't have to be dancing around like that.'
Costume: Christie is pictured above modeling her costume for the show. When Christie was out Sailor slipped on the number and the two just happened to be the same size
During Monday's announcement ahead of the two-hour season premiere a source with the magazine added that Christie was 'really loving this experience and having a fantastic time.' Also adding that she will need surgery.
But now, she will sit in the stands to support the show in a different way as she watches Sailor take the stage to compete for the Mirror Ball trophy.
'I felt this high of just attacking something I was so afraid of and it felt like something I need to do,' she said to Good Morning America after the announcement. 'I think it will change me.'
'I'm doing this mostly for my mom. I just want to make her happy and make her proud. She loved doing this, she loves dancing and she loves performing and getting hurt was her worst nightmare.'
Good luck! Sailor shared a photos of the roses that were sent to her dressing room while she preps for her big performance
Sailor will take the stage with an all-star cast including The Bachelorette's Hannah Brown, NBA star Lamar Odom, Trump's former press secretary Sean Spicer, and more.
The show kicks off on Monday evening at 8 p.m. on ABC.
