Downton Abbey's Michelle Dockery looks chic in a black pantsuit for her appearance on the Tonight Show

She will return to the big screen this Friday with the premiere of the highly anticipated Downton Abbey movie. 

But on Tuesday Michelle Dockery was far from the walls of the Abbey, as she promoted the new film on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

The 37-year-old looked super chic in an all black pantsuit as she discussed her hit show's upcoming movie sequel.

The English actress kept it simple in the plunging and sleeveless one piece outfit. 

For a touch of flare, the wide leg pants also featured small flowing sides flaps that curved down her leg. 

The rest of her look was understated as she wore pointed toe black pumps and small gold hoop earrings. 

The TV star's hair was down in a simple quaffed look.

She seemed to be enjoying her visit to the late night talk show as she was seen smiling while talking to host Jimmy Fallon.

As the eldest daughter of Lord and Lady Grantham she goes from being a cold young woman to a compassionate leader, dedicated to the Abbey, which she will soon preside over. 

The final season saw her character marries a race car driver, Henry Talbot.

Premiering this week, the film will catch up with the family and staff at Downton as they prepare for a visit from King George V and Queen Mary in 1926. 

As well as Dockery, Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Maggie Smith and Laura Carmichael, among others reprise their roles. 

However, to fans dismay, Lily James (Lady Rose) and Samantha Bond (Lady Roseamund) are some of the cast that will not be returning.

Producer Gareth Neame, told Good Housekeeping UK 'We had to be really focused on the core characters… film would have been four hours long.' 

 The original series ran from 2010-2015.
