According to Deadline.com, Mixed-ish centers on the childhood of Black-ish character Rainbow Johnson.

It revolves around her experiences growing up in a mixed race family in the suburbs in the 1980s.

Rainbow Johnson is played by Tracee Ellis Ross in Black-ish which debuted in 2014.

The sitcom follows 'Bow' and her husband Andre Johnson (Anthony Anderson) as they raise their upper-middle class African-American family in predominantly white surroundings.

In May, ABC confirmed the sitcom was being picked up for a sixth season.
