Christie Brinkley thanks Sharon Osbourne for defending her in row with Wendy Williams over her Dancing with the Stars injury and exit
Christie Brinkley thanked Sharon Osbourne on Thursday's edition of The Talk for coming to her defense amid a row with talk show host Wendy Williams.
Williams, 55, on her talk show earlier this week, accused the model, 65, of faking the arm injury that caused her exit from ABC's Dancing with the Stars.
'I am so happy to be here, so I can personally thank you for defending me,' the Hamptons native told Osbourne, 66. 'Sharon, you did it in such a classy way, with so much love, and really as a lesson for all of us, when somebody acts like that you can only feel sorry' for the person.

Brinkley, who wore a bandaged cast on the show following the injury she suffered in rehearsal, added that 'when you're in a happy place, you support and you love one another, and you boost everybody up!'
Williams on Wednesday questioned the authenticity of the injury that led the National Lampoon's Vacation star to pull out of the dance competition, with her daughter Sailor Brinkley-Cook, 21, taking her place.
'I think what Christie did was she signed up for Dancing With the Stars knowing that she’d put her daughter Sailor in there,' Williams said, describing the fall Brinkley hurt herself on as 'fake as hell.'
She added, 'You should’ve said the tailbone because I don’t see a wrist or a shoulder being fractured.'

On the mend: Brinkley said doctors 'ended up putting in a plate' in her arm to stabilize injuries she suffered in rehearsals
Williams' criticism of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit alum drew a pointed rebuke from Osbourne on The Talk, as she described the talk show host as 'so dark inside' and 'so mean constantly,' noting that no one took shots at her amid her publicized stint at a sober living residential facility to deal with issues linked to alcohol and prescription medication.
'She’s a 55-year-old woman that relapsed again on drugs … and the thing is nobody gave her a hard time,' Osbourne said. 'It was just love, support to her.'
In her appearance on The Talk Thursday, Brinkley said she was taken aback by Williams' implication she lied about her injury, noting how she mistakenly believed she had built a rapport with the talk show host.
'Wendy Williams started this rumor, which was stunning to me because, you know, I've been on Wendy's show a couple of times, and for some reason she liked me, and she would call on me to support her in tough times,' Brinkley said, recalling an incident in which she calmed Williams down during her 2013 stint in a Broadway production of Chicago.

Oops! Brinkley said she thought she and Williams were friends prior to the public spat, as she had appeared on her show multiple times, including earlier this year
Brinkley, who's been married four times - most famously to Billy Joel from 1985 thru 1994 - said that Williams also contacted her amid the breakdown of her marriage to Kevin Hunter.
'Then she goes through a divorce, I get a call again, because let's face it, I'm kind of an expert with that,' Brinkley said. 'I was like, "I'm going to help you" ... so I thought it was a mistake when someone said she was doing this.
'My message to Wendy is, it's so much more fun to be kind, try it. It can't feel good to try to hurt other people - it can't - if it feels good, something's seriously wrong.'
Brinkley, who's mother to Alexa Ray Joel, 33, Jack Brinkley-Cook, 24, and Sailor, said doctors 'ended up putting in a plate' in her arm to stabilize injuries she suffered in rehearsals, adding that her surgery 'was supposed to take an hour and a half' and 'ended up taking 3 hours.'
