Sources told The Sun: 'When the dust settled they realised it just wasn't right. The split was mutual and they are both really sad about it and remain friends'.

Emily and Rob, who met at the BRIT Awards in February, are said to be devastated after the demise of their fleeting romance. 

Insiders went on: 'Emily and Rob were enjoying a honeymoon phase in their relationship with lots of fancy dates and extravagant weekends abroad.

'But when the dust settled they realised it just wasn't right. The split was mutual and they are both really sad about it and remain friends...

'Emily's enjoying one of the busiest times in her career so wants to give all she can to the exciting work opportunities coming her way... She's throwing herself into upcoming projects and remains positive.'

The news comes just weeks after Emily admitted she's terrified at the prospect of turning 30 in December.

She later confessed her body clock is 'flirting with the idea' of marriage and babies, but it's only 'early days' with her boyfriend Rob.

Speaking during an interview on Loose Women, the star spoke candidly about her plans for the future. Emily said: 'Marriage and babies is definitely what I want to do, not for everyone, for Rob and I it is still early days.

'My body clock is still flirting with the idea and I see Holly Willoughby and want that, but now it's work and I like being free.'

She also recalled her first meeting with Rob at Jack Whitehall’s BRITs after-party earlier this year.

'I don’t remember meeting him as I was so drunk. I went up to him and said, "Who are you?" and he said, "Who are YOU?". He got me a drink and we’ve been together ever since!', she laughed.

Coleen Nolan enthused he was a keeper because he'd managed to 'stay around' while she was drunk. 'And the next morning!', Emily enthused, before covering her face and exclaiming, 'Oh no!'.

Insisting nothing happened between them, she said: 'I stayed at his, but he was ever the gentleman and put me to bed.'

Last month, she admitted Rob is 'the man I've been waiting for' as she shared a rare insight into their then-blossoming relationship.

The star - who has previously kept her love life relatively private - revealed she feels 'very lucky' to have connected with the film producer after experiencing toxic boyfriends in the past.

Enthusing about her handsome man, the actress explained: '[Rob] is the man I have been waiting for. I feel very lucky.

Her longest relationship to date was with Hollister model Jack Vacher, with the couple splitting in 2018 after being together for five years.

The blonde bombshell also embarked on a brief fling with One Direction's Harry Styles when she was 23, and he was 19.

Emily said at the time: 'We had a nice little fling. We were never boyfriend and girlfriend. I think that’s the first time I’ve ever admitted to what it was, because I’ve just shrugged it off before.'
