Strictly's Michelle Visage sparks injury fears as she is spotted wearing a knee brace but assures fans she WILL be performing on the first live show

Strictly's Michelle Visage sparked injury fears after she was spotted wearing a knee brace on Friday, but assured fans she would still be taking to the ballroom for the first live show.

The Drag Race judge, 51, appeared to be limping as she sported the support garment on her right leg during some time off from rehearsals with fellow dancing celeb, Alex Scott, 34.

Michelle, who is partnered with Giovanni Pernice, was putting on a brave face as she wore the knee brace, before sitting down to chat with Alex, who will take to the dance floor with Neil Jones on Saturday.

The beauty wrapped up in a black cardigan and leopard print handbag.

Her raven tresses were styled in a chic bun while she accessorised with stylish shades.

Michelle and Giovanni will dance the Cha Cha Cha to So Emotional by Whitney Houston.

However, the star was quick to reassure fans that she was looking forward to beginning her quest for the Glitterball trophy on Saturday.

Sharing a glamorous photo on Instagram, she wrote: 'To my favoloso partner @pernicegiovann1 may the odds FOREVER be in our favor.

'Let's SMASH IT tonight! Thank you so much for guiding me and working me to the bone x #TeamVisagio #strictly.

A supportive Giovanni responded: 'You are an absolute star!!! Let's smash it.'

Michelle and Giovanni, 28, have already formed a close bond, with the beauty saying her late mother had ensured she would be paired with the Italian hunk.

She told The Telegraph: 'You're not allowed to ask for a certain pro, and even if you did, they're not gonna listen. So this was down to my mother in heaven, I swear. She knows I'm gonna work hard and that I need someone on the same level.

'Giovanni's a Virgo, I'm a Virgo, which means we're work, work, work all the time. He's really tough - our first rehearsal was for seven hours.

It's like we're an old married couple in New York City, who own an Italian restaurant and yell at each other at the top of their lungs. Ours is a bickering, loving relationship.'

The photos came hours before this year's 15 celebrities will take to the dance floor with their professional partners for the first time, hoping to wow with their moves.

Fans found out the pairings during the first show of the new series earlier this month, with the couples having spent the past two weeks perfecting their moves in time for the debut live show.

The show has already had its fair share of injuries with Jamie Laing forced to pull out after damaging a tendon while performing the first group dance - and replaced by Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher.

Anneka Rice, this series' oldest celeb at 60, also faced an agonising wait to see if she could continue in the show after injuring her shoulder during a fall just weeks after signing up.

The TV star had to skip the first group dance in the opening show after aggravating the injury during rehearsals.

Speaking to the Radio Times, she explained: 'Anton Du Beke spontaneously threw me up in the air and over his shoulders before I had time to say 'By the way, my shoulder is…'

'And just like that, on the medic's instructions, I was out of the group dance.'

Luckily Anneka has recovered and has been paired with reigning champion Kevin Clifton.

Meanwhile, Catherine Tyldesley revealed she's been suffering with such bad nausea in her Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals that she's been forced to take anti-sickness tablets.

The former Coronation Street star, 36, confessed that she's struggling to nail the tricky Viennese waltz, her first routine on the show, as she practises with partner Johannes.

Appearing on Wednesday's episode of BBC Breakfast with her Scarborough co-star and Strictly alumni, Claire Sweeney, the star confessed she was feeling 'terrified'.

Catherine confessed: 'I'm loving it and my partner Johannes is phenomenal in every way.

'I'm extremely nervous and I'm doing the Viennese waltz which makes me feel very sick. I'm actually taking anti-sickness tablets because of the spinning!

'I'm really glad you can't get voted out on week one because it's so difficult, but I am just having the best time. The first live show is this weekend which is slightly terrifying...'
