Halsey wears little black dress for Emmys memorial tribute after arriving in pink and purple gown

Halsey donned a little black dress Sunday while performing a touching memorial tribute at the 71st Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles.

The 24-year-old singer earlier showed her demure side in a pink and purple ombré gown upon arrival for the awards ceremony at the Microsoft Theatre.

Halsey made her Emmys debut with her dark hair up in tight curls and accessorized with dangling earrings, sparkling necklace and rings with her makeup done by Denika Bedrossian using NYX Professional Makeup.

The singer, real name Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, sang a slow version of Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper during the 'In Memoriam' segment with acoustic piano accompaniment.

She changed into the black mini dress that included a long train for the only performance during the three-hour event.

Halsey performed the emotional tribute as images of entertainers who recently died were flashed on a screen.

The tribute paid honors to numerous late stars, including: Tim Conway, Doris Day, Gloria Vanderbilt, Luke Perry, Peter Fonda, Stan Lee, Rip Torn and Penny Marshall.

The Closer singer upon arrival accentuated her natural beauty with pink lipstick and thickened lashes.

Halsey also carried a small purple purse on the carpet and her sleeveless gown showed her multiple tattoos on her arms and left shoulder.

The singer later added a pop of color with red lipstick for her performance.

The Emmy Awards were being broadcast without a host this year after the Oscars went hostless last February.

Halsey also performed Friday at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas.

She recently released her new single Graveyard earlier this month and sang the song live for the first time at the Nevada festival.

During an interview with Billboard, Halsey said the song was about 'being in love with someone who is in a bad place and loving them so much that you don't realize that you're going to that bad place with them.'

Halsey was spotted last week filming the accompanying carnival-themed music video.

She is scheduled to release her third studio album Manic on January 17, 2020.
