Will Smith has a Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air spin-off 'in the works' as the original TV series will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2020

Will Smith is reportedly in the process of developing a spin-off of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, the sitcom that put him on the map in the 1990s.

Smith's digital content studio Westbrook Media will oversee the new show, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Will and his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith established Westbrook Media in July to look over their multiple projects including Overbrook Entertainment and Red Table Talk Enterprises.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air marked Smith's transition from rapper to actor.

He had previously gained accolades including a Grammy for his role in hip-hop dup DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince in the late 1980s.

Smith played a fictional version of himself for six seasons on the sitcom.

On the show, Smith portrays a teenager bred in West Philly who is sent to live with his well-to-do relatives in Bel-Air, California to clean up his act.

The grapevine has gone wild over speculation of a reboot for the 20 years since the show has been off-air.

Its cast still keeps in touch and reunites from time-to-time, sparking the rumors.

E! News asked Smith about the possibility of a reboot in 2016, to which he replied: 'I don’t think ever, like pretty close to when hell freezes over. Like we’re going to leave that one alone.'

But when British talk show host Graham Norton asked him about the potential for a reboot back in 2017, Smith responded in a more positive manner, saying in reference to his TV-dad played by James Avery: 'Man, I’d have to be Uncle Phil in that one!'

Further fueling the hype is a new Fresh Prince-inspired clothing line Smith debuted last week entitled Bel-Air Athletics.

The collection includes hoodies, tees, sweatpants, socks, and a reversible track jacket.

There is no projected premiere date for the show available yet, however next year may be an ideal time as the original series will turn 30 in 2020.
