Josh is set to return to Coronation Street in scenes to air on Friday, as David discovers him in the prison medical wing.

The villain is awaiting trial for another male rape, and once David's inmates learn about his horrific ordeal, they plot a riot so they can have their revenge.

Jack P Shepherd - who plays David - reveals: 'They say Josh needs teaching a lesson and in a riot you can get away with anything, there'll be no witnesses and they'll bring Josh to him.'

As the riot breaks out, David tries to keep a low profile as he is fully aware that he is just weeks away from being released.

But as he is handed a pair of scissors, and comes face-to-face with his attacker once again, it remains to be seen whether he will go ahead and enact the ultimate revenge.

Ryan Clayton - who plays Josh - says: 'Josh's safety is at risk and he can't play the cards he used to play anymore. But he knows he still can use control over David and he does.

'He is full of bravado but the second he is alone with David you really see how scared and panicked he is.'

Speaking about David's state of mind in the dark scenes, Jack adds: 'David finds himself swept up in their plan, the thought is certainly there and when he's presented with the scissors I think he's capable of anything.'

Fans of Coronation Street were left divided in March 2018, when dark scenes aired which saw David drugged and later raped by Josh.

It took several months before David finally spoke out about his ordeal, but despite his best efforts, Josh was never charged for the crime.

Coronation Street airs the prison riot scenes on Monday 21st October on ITV.
