She said: ‘I didn’t think I’d be as nervous as I was. When you step up there it hits you in the face how real it is and how badly you want it.

Olivia lives in Los Angeles and if she makes it to the live shows, she doesn't think her family will fly over to London to see her unless she makes the final.

She said: ‘Maybe if I get far enough but it’s hard because you could get eliminated at any second. So if you’re getting everyone on a flight out here and then it’s like, “You’re going home!” (laughing).

‘So we’ll see. But they were like: “You’d better work your butt off and get yourself in the final, and then we’ll come out.” '

Olivia also said that Simon was kind toward her after her audition and she is also happy with the judge she has been given as her mentor, although she remained tight-lipped on who it is.

She said: ‘They cut out so much from the shows that you don’t see. He came and thanked every act for coming to his home and for really putting ourselves out there.

‘We already have them so we can’t say without hurting someone’s feelings. I’m very happy with my mentor.

‘I met with them yesterday and I was really happy with the conversations we were having so it’s the perfect fit.’

Olivia admitted she hasn't seen much of the Love Actually cast since the film although she did reunite with Thomas Brodie-Sangster who had a crush on her character in the film.

She said: ‘Well the last time I saw Thomas [Brodie-Sangster] was when we filmed the Love Actually Red Nose Day sequel and I haven’t seen him much since then.

‘I live in Los Angeles and back in the day cell phones weren’t even a thing. When you left you just left, and it was like “bye”! But even then I don’t have my AOL anymore!

‘So we didn’t really stay in touch but we did play co-stars in one of the animated shows that I did. And it was such a funny, random occurrence that we both got cast. They wrote it in that his character had a crush on my character.'
