Coronation Street Christmas SPOILER: Cast 'scream with terror as they film EXPLOSIVE late night scenes at a festive winter fair'
The cast were spotted filming scenes in the midst of a festive winter fair, with a source telling Manchester Evening News that they could see a large puff of smoke after a gas canister exploded.
So far little has been revealed about Corrie's upcoming Christmas plots, though star Jennie McAlpine recently hinted that there could be a death on the horizon.

In snaps from the set, it appeared that a festive fair had been built as part of the dramatic scenes, as an extra could be seen riding down a Helter Skelter.
Later a puff of smoke appeared to be emerging from behind buildings, with a source claiming that the cast could be seem screaming in terror.
They said: 'There was a flash and a puff of smoke and people could be heard screaming.
'There was a crash and a bang coming from the fair, thought to be from a gas canister as part of a storyline.'

The source added that the loud explosion caught the attention of residents living near the set, and it remains to be seen how the scenes will play out.
'It was around 11:45pm and people were on their balconies wondering what was going on. One man was wearing only a pair of underpants,' they said.
So far very little has been revealed about Corrie's upcoming festive storyline, although star Sally Ann Matthews - who plays Jenny Bradley - recently revealed that the scenes will be suitable dramatic.

She told The Daily Star: 'I've just received scripts for Christmas. What I can say is it's beyond dramatic. It's big and edge-of-your-seat stuff. It's not just one story either. There are several big stories happening.'
Jenny McAlpine - who plays Fiz Brown - added: 'I've read the script for Christmas Eve. It's quite dramatic. I'm not sure if I'll be getting any turkey this year. Fiz is going to be quite busy!'

Last year's Corrie Christmas special saw Liz McDonald (played by Beverley Callard) run over by a drunken Jenny, after she discovered the former Rovers landlady had an affair with her husband Johnny (Richard Hawley).
The episode also featured some tear-jerking moments as a pregnant Sinead Tinker (Katie McGlynn) - who will pass away in scenes set to air next week - celebrated Christmas with her family who feared that it could be her last as she battled cervical cancer.
And one beloved soap couple found themselves on the rocks, as Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) confessed to his imprisoned wife Sally (Sally Dynevor) that he had slept with her sister Gina (Connie Hyde), only to learn that she lied about their alcohol-fuelled encounter.
