Hilary Duff admits she struggles to help son Luca, 7, with his homework because 'I stopped going to school in third grade'

She's been working hard since her childhood, from Casper Meets Wendy to Lizzie McGuire. 

But becoming a professional actress at such a young age meant Hilary Duff stopped going to school in third grade, relying on a tutor instead.

And the mother-of-two took to Instagram Saturday, explaining how difficult it is to help son Luca with his second grade homework.

Hilary explained that she left 'real' school in third grade, as she started tutoring on film and television sets.

The 32-year-old wrote: 'This guy with his spirit and kindness. Homework is already no joke in 2nd grade. 

'I stopped going to “real” school in 3rd grade so I’m actually doomed... I am left scratching my head alll the time looking at his homework and I’m terrified for next year!'

Duff posted a photo of herself and the seven-year-old looking perplexed over a homework assignment.

She added: 'Although Singapore math is the s***....also learned a lot about tick birds this week. #rhinosbegrateful'

She soon went on to lead her own Disney Channel show Lizzie McGuire, which ran from 2001 to 2004.

The actress is revisiting the role for the upcoming Disney+ revival, which was recently announced. 

She told E! News of the revival: 'I have said this before, but for me coming back when she's 30 and she's not in a marriage and she's not having a baby and she's not doing all the things that I have already done in my life, that story is really exciting for me.
