Wayne Rooney touches down in Barbados to join his sons for a tropical half-term break amid wife Coleen's WAG-gate scandal
Wayne Rooney touched down in Barbados on Sunday to join his children for a sun-drenched half-term break.
The football star, 33, arrived a few days after his sons - Kai, nine, Klay, six, and Kit, three - who jetted over a few days earlier with their grandparents Colette and Anthony McLoughlin.
Wayne's wife Coleen has sat the trip out, staying home with the couple's fourth son Cass, who will turn two in February, entrusting her own parents with taking care of the three older boys before their footballer dad arrived at the end of the weekend to join them.
Arrival: Wayne Rooney touched down in Barbados on Sunday alone
Wayne went low-key in a black tracksuit with white paneling, a baseball cap and black trainers as he wheeled his luggage out of the airport and headed to a waiting car.
Greeted by a lady, Wayne was then whisked to the resort his family are staying for the vacation.
Coleen has remained in the UK, due to feeling unwell.
She has been caught up in drama at home over the past two weeks, after she 'outed' fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy, claiming her Instagram account was being used to sell stories on her family to the press - something she sternly denies.
Meanwhile, Coleen's dramatic revelation enthralled Britain and sparked an angry denial from pregnant Rebekah, who said 'I don't need the money’ and pointed out other people have had access to her Instagram account.
Rebekah recently gave an interview with The Daily Mail, in which she insisted arguing with Coleen is akin to rowing 'with a pigeon.'

Rebekah was pictured returning to the UK in floods of tears after the scandal broke while she herself was on holiday with her football star football Jamie.
She was supported by Jamie as she returned to London's Heathrow Airport from a family trip to Dubai on Saturday.

Sources close to Becky say leading law firm Kingsley Napley has sent Coleen a letter on her behalf demanding she provides them with the evidence she has against Becky so that she can complete her investigation.
Becky has called in a forensic team to analyse her Instagram account and identify the mole who sold fake stories to The Sun from Coleen’s Instagram account.
As part of that probe, they say, they have asked Wayne’s wife to give them the proof they have that the source must have been Becky’s Instagram account.
