Rooney Mara cuts a casual figure in black jeans with white T-shirt while stepping out in Los Angeles

She stepped out on a sunny Saturday afternoon in Los Angeles, in her signature monochrome look.

Rooney Mara, 34, looked chic in her simple white T-shirt and black, high waist jeans.

The beautiful brunette strolled along in black suede slides with a black leather bag slung over her shoulder.

Rooney appeared to be on a solo outing as there was no sign of her fiance Joaquin Phoenix, 44.

The pair has been romantically linked since 2017, keeping their romance largely to themselves save for the occasional joint red carpet appearance.

However, they confirmed their engagement in July.

Step out in style in Hireath Collective loafers like Rooney

Rooney Mara is famously vegan, along with her fiance Joaquin Phoenix, and she definitely walks the walk. As part of her commitment to being vegan and animal cruelty-free, she founded ready-to-wear and accessories line Hireath, along with partners Sara Schloat and Chrys Wong.

The range is comprised of gorgeous, avant-garde pieces that are leather, fur, wool and silk-free. Rooney, of course, wears much of the line, including on the red carpet.

Here, she's donning the signature loafers featuring vegan leather and a chic slip-on design. Unfortunately, this exact pair have now sold out but click (right) to shop the collection.

Joaquin's blockbuster movie Joker is riding high at the box office, holding on to the No. 2 slot.

It's an origins story for the DC Comics villain that's directed by Todd Phillips.

It had the most lucrative October weekend opening box office haul ever, pulling in $93.5 million.

When the film first screened at the Venice Film Festival, critics immediately raved about Phoenix's performance and tipped him for an Academy Award nomination.

It got a similar response when it was screened shortly afterwards at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Earlier this month NME.com reported that Phoenix is interested in reprising the role in a sequel.

Speaking to Peter Travers for ABC's Popcorn, the actor said: 'I wouldn’t have thought of this as my dream role. But now, honestly, I can’t stop thinking about it.

'I talked to Todd a lot about what else we might be able to do, in general, just working together, but also specifically, if there’s something else we can do with Joker that might be interesting,' he added.
