He said SNL producer Lorne Michaels, 74, called him the Friday before the season premiere and talked him into it.
Alec said Lorne said 'please' so he did it and added, 'I'm going to do it a few times.'

Edward also stars in the film that features Alec, Bruce Willis, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Bobby Cannavale, Cherry Jones and Willem Dafoe.
