Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson decided to go public with their romance so early because they didn't want to 'live like recluses in Hollywood'

They may have only recently started dating, but Cody Simpson and Miley Cyrus are already telling anybody who'll listen the ins and outs of their relationship.

Cody said the couple had made a conscious decision early on to be open and honest for the 'benefit and health' of their relationship.

'Literally the first week things started to get serious for us, we had a chat,' he said.

'We had two ways to go about it: One is to get f**king busted all the time, and have it be this weird thing to talk about, or just be proud to be with each other and just be f**king cool about it and not weird.'

One of the main reasons they decided to go public was so they could live openly without having to worry about getting caught.

'We've vowed to be open about it from now on and it makes it all so much easier than us trying to run around and be reclusive in Hollywood, trying not to be seen in cafés.

'That s**t sounds so wack. Now we don't have to [order] UberEats all the time, we can be a normal couple and go out like normal couples do.'

On Monday, Miley and Cody livestreamed their FaceTime chat via Instagram.

During their discussion, the Wrecking Ball star took a swipe at her estranged husband Liam Hemsworth, 29, by saying most men 'aren't good people', with the exception of Cody.
