Michael Douglas, 75, shares an unconventional bonding session with son Dylan, 19, as they relieve themselves against a hedge

It's hardly the most conventional backdrop for a bonding session, but a roadside hedge provided the unlikely setting as nature called for Michael Douglas and son Dylan. 

The pair gave in to Basic Instinct by spending a penny against a bank of tangled shrubbery during their latest appearance together.  

Hollywood star Douglas, 75, later shared a snap of himself and Dylan - his 19-year old son with wife Catherine Zeta-Jones - standing shoulder to shoulder as they quietly relieved themselves.

Captioning the shot, he wrote: 'Bonding experience with my son.'

While their location is not established, public urination can be viewed as 'disorderly behaviour' in the United Kingdom - and punishable with a small fine under the 1986 Public Order Act. 

It is however more probable that the photo was taken in the United States, where Dylan studies at esteemed Brown University in Rhode Island, and where fines are still issued on the grounds of disorderly conduct for urinating in public.

Welsh actress Catherine, 50, posed for a snap alongside her son during her visit to the highly respected east coast college, which boasts Harry Potter star Emma Watson among its celebrity alumni.

Michael and Catherine married in 2000 after their family friend Danny DeVito introduced them.

They also raise daughter Carys, 16, while Michael also has son Cameron, 40, from his first marriage to Diandra Luker.
