Sarah Jessica Parker reveals the secret to her happy marriage - despite saying husband Matthew Broderick 'annoys her' after 28 years together

They're one of Hollywood's longest-lasting couples, having been together for almost three decades.

And on Tuesday, Sarah Jessica Parker revealed the secret to her happy marriage to actor Matthew Broderick, whom she wed in 1997.

Speaking on Australian TV show The Project on Tuesday night, the Sex and the City star said: 'I really like my husband!'

Keep them grounded: Asked how she keeps her children humble despite their celebrity upbringing, Sarah said they've only known her as a mother, rather than a world-famous actress. Sarah is pictured with her husband, Matthew Broderick

Sarah, 54, added: 'We've been together 28 years and I really do like him.

'I'm sure I'm annoying and, you know, there are times that he annoys me, and that's what makes it interesting!'

Sarah went on to say that she hopes working alongside Matthew on the upcoming Broadway production of Neil Simon's Plaza Suite won't put a strain on their marriage.

'I like him and I admire him, and I'm hopeful our marriage can weather this experiment,' she said.

Elsewhere in the interview, Sarah revealed that she and Matthew are determined to give their twin daughters Marion and Tabitha, 10, and son James, 16, normal childhoods away from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood.

'We want very much for our children to have their own lives,' she said.
