'That's unbelievable!' Sarah Jessica Parker reacts to the hilarious moment she was accidentally dragged into the Brexit saga after a BBC gaffe went viral

Sarah Jessica Parker was left shocked after discovering her name had been brought up in reference to the Brexit debacle.

During an appearance on The Project on Tuesday, the Sex and the City star was shown footage of a BBC news report in which she was accidentally mentioned.

The case of mistaken identity happened last week when a BBC presenter in London introduced her colleague as 'Sarah Jessica Parker' live on air.

The political correspondent's name was actually Jessica Parker, and footage of the gaffe quickly went viral around the UK.

After being shown the clip, the 54-year-old American actress could barely contain her amusement.

She jumped up from her chair and gasped: 'My name was invoked in the mix of Brexit! [It's] an international incident!'

The rest of the panel laughed as Sarah tried to get her head around the gaffe.

'I don't need to do anything else as long as I live,' she joked. 'That's it for me! That's unbelievable. I didn't know that happened.'

Thankfully, the BBC political correspondent didn't mind being mistaken for Sarah either, describing the actress as a 'very glamorous woman'.

Sarah, who is best known for her role as Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City, has been married to actor Matthew Broderick since 1997.

They welcomed son James on October 28, 2002, and twin daughters Marion and Tabitha via a surrogate on June 22, 2009.

Being neither British nor a politician, Sarah is not involved in the ongoing Brexit negotiations whatsoever.
