BBC Breakfast's Carol Kirkwood was left laughing when she disappeared while standing in front of a weather map on Wednesday. 

The 57-year-old former Strictly star wore a green dress which made her disappear against the green screen in which the map of the UK is projected. 

She posted the hilarious video to social media to explain what had happened after her body became part of the map and just her hands, head and neck were visible.

Sharing a picture of the moment as her body went transparent against the map, she said: 'And this is why we don't wear green against a green screen!

'You look like you've just got hands, it's very Halloween-y.' 

Carol could then he seen in her green dress against the green screen as she changed the background.

And one final click saw her body become solid again as she stood in front of the weather map.   

She wrote: 'Now, when I change the background...ah!' and her body reappeared in front of the screen.

As well as her weather presenting duties, Carol famously appeared on the 2015 edition of Strictly, where she was paired with Pasha Kovalev, 39.

She's been cheering on fellow BBC star Mike Bushell and Katya Jones on this year's show. 

Mike presents the sport on BBC Breakfast on Fridays, the weekends, and sometimes on other weekdays. 

Meanwhile, Carol recently retweeted a picture of herself and fellow TV presenter Victoria Derbyshire, 51, as she bumped into her while shopping. 

They were both clinging onto the same patterned dress and Victoria wrote: 'Snap! Bumped into this clever lady ⁦@carolkirkwood⁩ as we were both eyeing up the same dress.'ShopSjop
