I'm A Celebrity EXCLUSIVE: Ant McPartlin reveals he's 'very excited' to be back with pal Declan Donnelly in Australia after a year's break... as they promise 'one of the best casts ever'

Ant McPartlin has revealed he's 'very excited' to be back in Australia with Declan Donnelly for I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, after skipping last year's series.

The TV personality, 43, was replaced on the ITV show by Holly Willoughby last winter, as he took a break while battling his addiction to alcohol and prescription drugs.

And while Ant exclusively tells MailOnline of his joy at going back to the show, which returns to screens next Sunday, Dec, 44, has promised 'one of the best casts ever'.

Ant said: 'I’m very, very excited about getting back on the show, I missed it last year. It’s a brilliant place to work, a brilliant part of the world to be in and I’m back with my best friend. I can’t wait.'

The pair touched down in Australia over the weekend, ahead of a host of participating stars, reportedly including Caitlyn Jenner, Ian Wright, Nadine Coyle, Jacqueline Jossa, and James Haskell.

And Dec has vowed that the audience will be impressed with the line-up, telling MailOnline: 'This is our 19th series. We’ve been privy to a few of the names that are taking part this year. We’re very excited as it’s one of the best casts ever.'

Ant and Dec recently posted a snap of themselves to their Instagram account as they prepare to host the latest series of the show.

Dec recently admitted that he thought he had 'lost' his best friend of 31 years for good when Ant was arrested for a drink-driving conviction last year.

Speaking in their ITV documentary Ant & Dec’s DNA Journey, Dec said: 'It has been a tough couple of years and it has tested the bond we have shared since we were 13.'

Dec added: 'I was incredibly angry at the start, so angry. Disappointed that he didn't ever come to me and say "I am struggling, I need you," because that is what I would do if the shoe was on the other foot. And he never came to me and that hurt me a lot.'

The ITV documentary was halted for two years while Ant took a break from the spotlight to battle his addiction to alcohol and prescription drugs. He admitted himself to rehab for further treatment.

During this time, Dec admitted he was 'filled with fear' at the thought of no longer having Ant by his side.
