Rapper Bad Azz has died at the age of 43.

The singer was taken into custody on Friday on a domestic violence charge and was being held at the Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta, California as he awaited a court date on Wednesday.

But the California native passed away earlier this week, possibly on Monday, according to TMZ.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department told People foul play was not suspected in his death.

TMZ added later: 'Cops say guards were conducting a security check when they noticed Bad Azz in need of medical assistance. Medical staff attempted to perform lifesaving measures, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.'

Law enforcement sources said 'there are no signs of foul play, and their investigation remains ongoing. The cause of death will be determined by the coroner.'

Bad Azz was arrested in the town of Wildomar, California and his bail was reportedly set at $10,000.

The star, born Jamarr Antonio Stamps, was a close friend of 48-year-old hitmaker Snoop Dogg, who is best known for the song Drop It Like It's Hot.

Azz was a member of Tha Dogg Pound Gangsta Crips, also known as DPGC, after being signed briefly to Doggystyle Records.

The rapper was known for the songs Wrong Idea and We Be Puttin It Down.

His last album was 2018's The Nu Adventures of Bad Azz. In September her released the single Midnite Snack. 

He had a total of five studio albums throughout his career: Word On Tha Streets (1998), Personal Business (2001), Money Run (2003), Executive Decision (2003) and The Nu Adventures of Bad Azz (2018).
