I'm A Celeb star Kate Garraway reveals she was STOPPED by customs after arriving in Australia with too much fake-tan in her luggage

She's poised for a stay in the Australian jungle after confirming her appearance on the current series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

But Kate Garraway's outback experience got off to a shaky start before it had officially began following her arrival at Brisbane Airport on Monday.

The Good Morning Britain presenter, 52, was delayed by customs officials after they discovered an excessive amount of fake tan in her suitcase.

Reflecting on the hold up after making it to the show's Queensland base, she admitted to purchasing an abundance of the product during her stop-over in the United Arab Emirates.

'I bought some fake tan in Abu Dhabi,' she told The Sun. 'As I thought best to get that tan all over every part of my body, and they wouldn't let me through customs.

'I had to have it put in its own special box. I was held up by my fake tan.'

She added: 'I've got a lot of swimming costumes. It's quite hard as there's bits of my body that I'm trying to cover up. I was looking for one that starts up here and goes down to my ankles.'

The presenter admitted she asked co-hosts Susanna Reid and Ranvir Singh for their opinions before settling on her jungle swimsuits.

'We did have a big try on session,' she said. 'But I haven't brought all of them.'

Head into the wild wearing Kate's Primrose Park dress

Kate Garraway is just one of the handful of celebrities about to enter the renowned I’m a Celebrity jungle and give up luxuries like her coveted wardrobe.

So it’s no wonder she took one more golden opportunity to show off one of her trendy dresses as she touched down in Australia.

The Good Morning Britain presenter wore a tiger print midi dress by Primrose Park with studded suede boots to complete the look.

The ‘Coco’ dress is right on cue with fashion’s obsession with animal prints (yes, that’s still a thing) and features an ombre inspired orange colourway with tiger stripes in contrasting black. The figure flattering wrap dress has a laid-back kimono vibe, but style yours with heels and you’ll easily have a glam evening look.

The media personality said in an interview with Fit and Well last year: 'I tried different popular diets and realised, because of the crazy shifts I do, I regulated my energy with sugar bursts.

'I didn’t think I ate a lot of sugar but by 8am I’ve always had loads of chocolate. Now I eat avocados obsessively because I found one of the diets was high in good fat, medium protein and zero sugar – which is a bit extreme for me.'

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! launches on ITV1 at 9:00pm, November 17.
